Corporate Identity和Corporate Image是什么意思? 二者等同吗?

Corporate Identity和Corporate Image在某种程度上看起来有些接近,在中文里,甚至有时候都被翻译为:公司形象。然而,严格来说,二者却并不能等同。

Corporate Identity意思是:公司的品牌形象(或公司身份),也就是公司(企业)希望大众记住的样子。这种形象是由企业名称、商标、标语(slogan)等所构成的。比如:麦当劳的著名M形黄色logo,就是公司的品牌形象。这个标志让麦当劳显得独特,并易于与其他的快餐连锁店(KFC、Burger King、Pizza Hut等)进行区分。

而Corporate Image,则指大众长期以来对公司形成的一种整体的理解与感受,比如:这是一家充满正能量的公司、那是一家经常负面新闻缠身的公司、这是一家健康、环保、热心公益的公司,而那是一家经常克扣员工、口碑很差的公司。这种心目中对一家公司的好或者坏的判断,对公司而言,就是它的image(形象)。

参考这两个例句,比较二者的不同:

Amazon is evidently taking measures to improve its corporate image. (很显然,亚马逊正在采取措施来改善其公司形象。)

The company has just unveiled a new corporate identity in an effort to attract young customers. (为吸引年轻的顾客,该公司刚刚公布了新的公司形象。)

“同名品牌”、“以自己名字命名的品牌”用英语怎么说?
