Last but not least的意思及用法

Last but not least,是一句经常出现的套话(cliche),往往在介绍多个事物或人物的最后一个时用到。Last but not least的英文解释为:last in sequence, but not last in importance; last in order of mention or occurrence but just as important。意思是:顺序排在最后,但重要性并非最后。可以将其翻译为:最后,同样重要的一点是… ;最后,同样重要的一位是…。

参考几个英文例句:This is Jeremy, this is Kath, and, last but not least, this is Artie. (这位是Jeremy,这位是Kath,最后同样重要的一位,这是Artie。)Right, I’ve got my money, my sunglasses and, last but not least, my lipstick.(好吧,我带了钱、墨镜、最后也是同样重要的,口红。)I would like to thank my publisher, my editor, and last but not least, my wife for her encouragement during the writing of my book.(感谢我的出版方、我的编辑、最后同样重要的一位,感谢妻子在我创作本书期间给与的鼓励。)
